Thruxton & Thruxton R 1200 (2016 until now)
The model born in 2016 comes with some updates. Engine size is increased up to 1200cc, and in this configuration power arrives at 97 HP. But there are also technical improvements. The engine is now liquid cooled and the Triumph technology package inserts ride by wire, traction control and the possibility to select three different maps for three different riding styles. The Thruxton 1200 mounts 17" wheels in both the front and rear, giving up the characteristic 18" front. The standard version is equipped with a Kayaba fork and suspension while the R version has a premium suspension/ shock setup. At the front it adopts a Showa fork while the rear is equipped with the fully adjustable double Ohlins shock absorber. The R version is also enhanced by radial calipers. The Thruxton 1200 therefore not only grows in displacement, it is a mature bike, which after 11 years evolves with important innovations and upgrades.
