The version with the 1200 cubic capacity boxer engine is the one that has decreed the definitive success of the Bavarian enduro. A bike that has been able to reinvent itself while keeping the pillars of its success firm. Small tweaks to the engine that in ten years of production has gone from 100 hp to 110 hp in the air-cooled configuration, also through the modification of the distribution from single cam-shaft to double cam-shaft. All without ever changing the DNA of this motorcycle, always adding new technological solutions, such as ESA suspension, riding modes and safety equipment. Everything always built around the boxer motorcycle engine, the fork with Telelever technology and the rear Paralever, cornerstones of the German market leader.
Every evolution of this R1200GS has always been accompanied by the Adventure model, which has now become easily recognizable by the importance of the large tank and from the "king of the road" size.
