The K (Kompact) models appeared in the BMW range from 1983. They were models characterized by innovation, modernity and originality. Both in the 3-cylinder version (K75 from 1985 to 1997) and in the 4-cylinder version (K100 from 1983 to 1991 and K1100 from 1992 to 1998), they have always had a configuration with in-line cylinders' engines. The K models were also very innovative, they were in fact the first to have fully electronic ignition management and injection fueling, as well as being the first motorcycles to have an ABS braking control system. Models that certainly broke with the past, born to oppose the Japanese progress, which were able to combine technology and modernity with classic lines but still remaining recognizable even after years.
